追悼シンポジウム「高階秀爾館長と大原美術館」５

 

　簡単な配布資料は作りましたが、これまた「追悼　高階秀爾先生」などの抜粋ばかりになってしまいました。チョッと恥ずかしいので、最後にアメリカの著名な日本美術研究者マリベス・グレイビルさんからいただいたメッセージを加えました。

　My personal experience with Takashina Sensei was in various international workshops and conferences. He was always an enthusiastic supporter of young non-Japanese scholars studying Japanese art, and his astute comments on grad students' presentations were thoughtful and encourating. On the occasions when I heard Takashina Sensei speak, I was always impressed by the breadth of his vision, his insight, and the elegance of his language. In personal interactions, he was always gracious. Many American grad students and scholars benefited from his generous support for international conferences. May his legacy continue in future generations.
